--------- FAQs & INFO ---------

What is Fascia?

Fascia is like a spider web. It is a stringy tissue that is densely woven throughout your muscles, nerves, organs, arteries, veins and bones. The fascia tissue is one continuous structure throughout your body and holds everything in place. That is why if there is a snag or stretching in the tissue, it can cause pain in another body part that is connected to the fascia line.

Fascia is strong. It provides structural support and protects your muscles. Normally, fascia is flexible, stretchy and wants to move in all directions without any restrictions. When there is trauma in the tissue, lack of hydration, the fascia looses it's flexibility. It gets dry, brittle and more rigid. The tightness and adhesions can lead to pain, and loss of mobility, which can affect your quality of life.

What is Myofascial Release?

"Myo" means muscle and "fascia" is a strong and dense connective tissue made up of collagen and elastin. It covers and supports the muscles throughout your body. During the treatment myofascia release focuses on treating and hydrating the fascia tissue by applying gentle to firm pressure to stretch, and release any adhesions or knots in the fascia tissue. Myofascial release focuses more on the fascia tissue and its connections rather than the muscle itself.

Myofascial release is a technique that uses direct contact with the skin with little to no oil in order to feel the tightness in the fascia. The pressure is applied slowly in attempt to stretch and lengthen the fascia tissue. You may feel a tug of the skin, electricity, or burning senstion when severe adhesions are found in the fascia. This is completely normal. Myofascial release also activates muscle spindles, which send sensory information to the spinal cord. The spinal cord then regulates muscle contraction to ensure optimal length and tension for movement and stability.

Myofascial release is beneficial for anyone who has suffered from any injury, has mobility restrictions, poor posture, and chronic pain.

Lymphatic Massage FAQS

Recommended Frequency Based on Needs:

  • Initial Start of Treatment/Acute Phase (Acute Swelling): 2–3 sessions per week for the first 1–2 weeks, decreasing to 1–2 sessions weekly thereafter. Every 3 days is best when starting out for the first 2 weeks.
  • Lymphedema/ Edema Management: Can range from 1–5 sessions per week depending on severity.
  • Detox/Maintenance: Initial start is every 3 days for at least 2 weeks and then 1 session per week, or once every 3–4 weeks for maintenance.

Before and After Lymphatic Treatments

Before Treatment (Preparation)

  • Consultation: Discuss health concerns with a doctor.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water 2 days prior to treatment to assist with lymphatic flow.
  • Mindset: Prepare for a very light, gentle touch, not a deep tissue massage.

After Treatment (Results & Aftercare)

  • Immediate Effects: Feelings of lightness, increased energy, and decreased bloating/puffiness.
  • Physical Changes: Smoother skin appearance, improved circulation, and sometimes increased urination to remove toxins.
  • Temporary Side Effects: Some may experience fatigue, mild thirst, or mild headaches due to detox of toxins.
  • Aftercare: Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity, and rest.
  • Results: Regular, consistent sessions are generally recommended for the best results.

Wood Therapy FAQs

Prepping for Wood Therapy

  • Hydration: Increase water intake 48 hours before and after the session to assist with toxin removal.
  • Dietary Restrictions: Avoid eating heavy carb meals 2–4 hours before treatment
  • Timing: Avoid scheduling during menstruation.

After (post) treatment

  • Continue drinking plenty of water
  • Expect potential mild soreness in treated areas
  • Avoid heavy carbs, alcohol and caffeine for 48 hours after for best results

How often can I get a treatment? And maintenace?

Treatments can be done several times a week for over 1-3 months. Ideally, you want to give the body at least 3 days in between sessions. 1-2 sessions per month for maintenace once you have achieved your desired goal.

When will I see results?

Results are typical right from the first session and a minimum of 4-12 initial treatments is recommended for full results. Normally, treatments are performed several times a week for many weeks to see the full benefits. Results can vary from person to person.

How long do the results of wood therapy last?

Many report results lasting up to a few months after the completion of their last treatment. However, maintenance treatments are necessary to keep the results you have achieved. Wood therapy only gives temporary results. The more consistent you are with it, the better your results will be and the longer they will last.

Non invasive body contouring info | Prepping | Results

Non-invasive body contouring uses technologies like low level laser lipo technology, radiofrequency, and ultrasound cavitation to reduce stubborn, localized fat pockets and tighten skin without surgery or downtime.

NON INVASIVE LASER LIPO

  • This advanced technology delivers a low-level laser dual wavelength technology to target stored fat in the body and improve collagen production to tighten the skin. The fat cells will shrink over time, and your body will lose inches along with the removal of toxins and improved skin.
  • Procedure: Patients lie down while panels with laser diodes are placed over the skin for 20 minutes.
  • Results & Downtime: No anesthesia or downtime is needed, with results generally visible in 6–12 weeks
  • Initial Frequency: 2–3 sessions per week are recommended initially to maximize results.
  • Total Protocol: Most patients require a series of 6–12 sessions.
  • Treatment Area: A "session" usually targets specific areas like the waist, hips, or thighs, requiring about 15–20 minutes per area.
  • Optimal Timing: Results are best achieved when paired with light exercise immediately after each session to help the body burn the released fat and stimulate the lymphatic system.
  • Consistency: Scheduling sessions consistently, such as twice a week over 4-6 weeks, ensures that the body continuously breaks down fat cells.

RADIOFREQUENCY

  • Non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) is a cosmetic procedure that uses energy waves to heat the deep, collagen-rich layers of the skin. This controlled heat causes immediate tissue contraction, stimulates collagen and elastin production, and results in firmer, tighter skin while reducing sagging, fine lines, wrinkles, and cellulite.

Results and Benefits

  • Skin Tightening: Effectively firms mild to moderate sagging skin on the face, neck, and body (e.g., abdomen, arms)
  • Collagen Stimulation: Triggers new collagen and elastin production, which builds over time.
  • Appearance Timeline: While immediate tightening of collagen fibers can be seen, optimal results appear gradually over 2 to 6 months as new collagen matures.
  • Longevity: Results can last, but maintenance sessions are typically recommended to sustain improvements every 1-3 months

Preparation

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning beds for at least a week prior to treatment to prevent sun-damaged skin from being treated.
  • Stop Irritants: Discontinue use of retinol, Retin-A, glycolic acids, and benzoyl peroxide 5-7 days before the session.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Avoid aspirin, Advil (ibuprofen), fish oil, and vitamin E for 5-7 days to minimize potential bruising, if safe to do so.
  • Hydrate: Ensure your skin is well-hydrated in the days leading up to the appointment.
  • Clean Skin: Arrive on the day of the procedure with clean, makeup-free skin.

Procedure

  • Duration: The procedure is an outpatient treatment, typically taking 30–60 minutes depending on the area.
  • Process: A technician applies a conductive gel to the treatment area to protect the skin and improve RF conduction.
  • Application: A handheld device is moved across the skin surface, delivering consistent, deep heating.
  • Sensation: The treatment is generally comfortable, feeling like a warm massage.
  • No Downtime: Patients can usually return to their normal activities immediately, as there are no punctures to the skin.

Side Effects

  • Minimal: Common, temporary reactions include slight redness, swelling, and mild warmth, which usually subside within a few hours to 1-2 days.

Non-invasive RF is ideal for individuals looking for non-surgical, non-injection options for skin rejuvenation.

ULTRASOUND CAVITATION

Ultrasonic cavitation is a cosmetic procedure that uses low-frequency sound waves to break down stubborn fat cells into liquid form, which the body then excretes as waste. It is used to reduce cellulite, contour the body, and target areas resistant to diet and exercise, such as the abdomen, thighs, and arms.

How It Works

  • Ultrasonic Waves: The device emits high-frequency sound waves that create microscopic bubbles around fat deposits beneath the skin. You will hear a high pitch sound during treatment  because of these sound waves.
  • Cell Breakdown: The bubbles pressure the fat cells, causing them to rupture and release their contents (glycerol and free fatty acids) into the interstitial system.
  • Natural Elimination: The body’s lymphatic system processes and removes these broken-down fat cells as waste

Key Preparation (Before the Session):

  • Hydration: Drink at least 2 liters of water daily for 2–3 days prior to help break down fat cells.
  • Diet: Follow a low-carbohydrate, low-sugar diet for 24 hours before to prevent overloading the liver.
  • Avoid Substances: Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24–48 hours before treatment to prevent dehydration.
  • Skin Prep: Avoid applying creams, oils, or lotions to the area.

Treatment Frequency and Protocol

  • Initial Course: 6 to 12 sessions are standard for optimal results.
  • Frequency: Treatments should be scheduled 2-3 times per week.
  • Interval: At least 72 hours (3 days) to 1 week should be allowed between sessions for optimal lymphatic system processing of released fatty acids.

Maintenance Protocol

  • Post-Treatment: Once the desired results are achieved, maintenance sessions are advised to prevent new fat accumulation, typically once every 1–3 months.

Maximizing Results (Maintenance Lifestyle)

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water (128 oz/day) 2–3 days before and after sessions to aid metabolic processing.
  • Diet: Maintain a low-carb, low-sugar diet to support fat reduction.
  • Exercise: Perform light cardiovascular exercise, such as walking or cycling, immediately after treatment to assist in draining fat cells through the lymphatic system.
  • Avoid: Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for 48 hours post-treatment, as they dehydrate the body and impede the lymphatic system.
